A civilian protective helmet with the to front SFP ( Supplementary Fire Parties)
Like the Fire watchers who protected business premises the SFP protected residential area's. But in August 1941 they were combined into one national organisation the Fire Guards.
The helmet is dated 3/41 & made by V.M, the liner is also dated 1941 but made by C.C.&S. Ltd.
The chin strap is home made version of the Mk2 chin strap.
