I picked these vintage light bulbs an auction tonight.
Paid $15.00 for a bin of glass insulators with light bulbs.
The small frosted bulb is an Edison 14 volt with small Edison type screw thread measures 8mmoutside diameter. Would it be for an early flashlight or low voltage lamp?
All of the lamps are round and have a point at the top. A pontil or exhaust which is where the air in the bulb was drawn out while still molten.
I found out that they are probably early twentieth century because of the blue glass at the bottom and they look like the typical automotive base on some .
Earlier bulbs had white plaster sealing the bottom
There is 1 lamp that has a modern type Edison style thread 120 volt I assume.
The frosted Edison is a very old bulb, 1 candle power, 14 volt. They were designed for effect not illumination, 8 of these bulbs would be connected in series , using a total of 112 volts & giving a brightness of 8 candles.
