Antique Engraved Wooden Slide-to-Open Keepsake Box

I was amazed by this as a kid and still love it today. I inherited it from my grandmother after she passed, so I am unaware of exactly what kind of box it is; I assume jewelry or a type of hide-away keepsake box. It is rather worn in the hinges and locking mechanism, so I believe it will stay closed permanently now. It is wooden with beautiful leaves engraved throughout and an inch bar slide to release the lock.
