I have wanted one of these old brass mortar & pestle sets for quite some time. I was just about to lose complete interest in them all together do to the $150+ range seller's are asking for them. Especially since they're not very big, being the mortar is at 2"5/8 tall, 2"1/8 diameter 1"3/4 deep and the pestle being 4"3/8 long. But I guess if you want the historical goods of antiquity, you gotta pay. Myself on the other hand was checking out a new indoor yard sale that just opened here recently. And was lucky to purchase this beauty for an earth-shattering kaboom price of $1.50....Cakes & Pies, Cakes & Pies!!!! =^)

Hi inky, funny you say that. When I snatched it up and went to pay for it, another buyer was talking to the vendor about it. Luckily for me I had already paid & had my receipt in hand for this purchase. I said, "Victory Is Mine, Haha!" LoL
I can just picture you at the till...head rolled back and un ashamedly loudly laughing hahaha...hehehe...hohoho!...lol!
