    Looks to be hand made...hand forged??? The metal has a brass color near the handle hole but not so much at the cutting edge. I appreciate any help identifying this piece!

      Appears to be very old by the style but don't see evidence of forging. Of course that doesn't mean it wasn't polished down. I've seen old iron that has been varnished long ago have the colour in the last pic. but some times iron/steel acquires a case hardening look when quinched after heated super hot in oil or such. Whether it is a reproduction or original can't be determined by pics but has a military style.
