Can anybody tell me about these shoes? They are stamped on the leather insole of each "constantinople". How do I care for them? I keep them wraped and stuffed with good quality acid free tisue but they seem to be getting brittle.

i learned the other day that shoes made prior to 1830 had no discernible right or left sole...and i think by 1853 (?) the way our shoes are today became the industry standard.
sorry i can't help with the care.
