These are two 1950 regular issue postage stamps issued in East Germany (German Democratic Republic) of President Wilhelm Pieck - Issued 1950 Both stamps are in used, cancelled condition with no gum.
STAMP #1 - Scott# 54 - "Wilhelm Pieck" - 12 pfennig (dark blue)
STAMP #2 - Scott# 55 - "Wilhelm Pieck" - 24 pfennig (red brown)
** Friedrich Wilhelm Reinhold Pieck (1876-1960) was a German politician and a Communist. In 1949, he became the first President of the German Democratic Republic, an office abolished upon his death. He was succeeded by Walter Ulbricht, who served as Chairman of the Council of State.
