D.D. Bean is still there and I am sure they can answer your questions. I use to drive by there a couple times a day. Pretty common item but maybe you have a missing link. Never hurts to check it out.
One more comment. The striker is on the front of this book of matches. I don't remember the year but they were forced to put the striker on the back.
