    A friend of mine saved this trunk from being smashed apart and trashed! She paid $10 and had it as a beautiful centerpiece in her livingroom until making it a gift to me!

      That's what friends are for!! Lovely old flat-top trunk circa early 1900's. You could freshen up the rusty parts with some gun oil. You could also strip it down to the wood and refinish it -- but It has a nice rustic look as is.... thanks for the post. Welcome to Collectors's Weekly!

      Ps. -- the term "steamer trunk" usually applies to the half sized cabin trunks... not the full sized trunk like yours...

      Hey guys, thanks so much for your tips and posts, very helpful already! I'll make sure to add some more pictures! I would love to add that it had an old ticket on it's side from American Railway company from N.Y! So at least I know it was used for traveling or transfering small goods, like UPS!
