    This is a 1949 commemorative issue postage stamp from Canada issued on June 1st, 1949 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the "Founding of Halifax, Nova Scotia" in the year 1749.
    STAMP: Scott# 283 / Denomination: 4¢ / Color: Purple
    Condition: Postally used - cancelled with no gum
    *** Halifax is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia. - The establishment of Halifax marked the beginning of Father Le Loutre's War which began when Edward Cornwallis arrived to establish Halifax with 13 transports and a sloop of war on June 21, 1749.
