What could be more popular today than ANYTHING that has something to do with "ZOMBIES" ?
This was an older tin with some light rust areas, but too delicious to pass up!
"A delicious coconut confection flavored with rum and imitation rum"
No upc on this (that, along with the aging helped in "vintage" dating), and the ingredients listed were bereft of all the chemicals you find on modern tins. Of course it was empty upon acquisition.
This was a popular candy in the deep south (coastal, such as New Orleans) and probably a pretty popular tourist grab on vacations. This one shown was in great condition with only the slightest dent wear here and there. And it was of good size. The front, as you can see was superb!
Today's youth are really looking for things like this as a current youth culture decorative, so if you find a genuine old (or vintage) one such as this on the cheap at a second hand store, you might benefit by taking it home. I think a picker can expect to possibly get up to 10 dollars, more or less, on a find like this.
