    I have not seen this used much after my early years in the Military. The cook used them most of the time unless you were lucky enough to get your hands on one and find the fuel to use it.

      I had one of these but I sold it a couple years ago. - Mine had a 1950's date stamped on the bottom, I think 1956 or 1958. - S.M.P. is State Machine Products, Dry Ridge, Kentucky

      Back in the 60's we used either gas or diesel or a mix for fuel just like the stoves. Everything was multifuel so you always had access to fuel. Even trucks were multifuel. More than once I fueled my Zippo with gas.
