African Carved Ebony Statues Woman with Child & Boy

These two African sculptures are carved out of ebony wood, their loin cloths are from the hide of an Impala. I usually don't purchase any wood art or figures - but these were so interesting - the detail on them is amazing I did a lot of research on them, many villagers in Africa are known for the wood carvings, there are certain areas that have limited access to Ebony (like Kenya, most of South Africa) I spoke with a couple of professional art dealers of ethnic African art, which concurred that these best Match the people of the Mikonde Tribe (Republic of Tanzania), due to their body shapes and depiction of themselves - I didn't ask about the ears, normally (in my experience) with African art, the ears are not large unless enhanced by tribal rings. The ears on both of the statues are much larger than average. They are not signed, as you will find most are not. Someone spent a lot of time on these, they are fantastic!
