I love illustrated pottery and ceramics but it's puzzling when you only have one piece and I am guessing that this might have been part of a set.
It has fruit transfers around the rim so it may be a jam dish I have only ever seen one like it. It was my nan's anyhow I love the blue and use it for flowers.
TG Green was famous for there blue & White striped pottery, also known as Cornish ware, which is now very collectible. Your piece is beautiful, and a little more unusual that their usual utilitarian pieces. You didn’t mention the size, but may have been for a fruit crumble or for serving stewed fruit?

I've had an email which said this is a "bulb bowl" from approximately 1920s - 1930s and that a similar blue colour and transfer rim were used on a range of TG Green
Tea pots. Thanks
