Been in our family as long as I can remember, was said that Abraham Lincoln has sat in this chair. Wondering if anyone has seen this carving on any other furniture. Trying to find out who made it an in what era

My grandmother had a set much like it around her table in Biwabik, Minn. WAY back when Hector was a pup.

We have a rocker very similar to yours. It was my father-in-laws. I believe it's a 1910 rocker because he was born in 1910 and you can see where he cut his teeth on the seat of the chair. ??

I believe this is a Murphy, built in Detroit Mi. Company started around 1870 moved to Kentucky around 1920.

I have one almost identical that I purchased years ago from an antique dealer. I am told mine is handmade and from 1894-97. The back is shaped and designed almost identical. The scrolling is a little different but not much. Mine has only 3 spindles under the arms. Mine is made using three different types of wood and the seat is not original...it had to be replaced by the dealer.
