The vase is approximately 5 the tall. it is located somewhere else so I don't have the exact measurements. I was wondering if anyone knew where it might be from, the style, and the approximate date it was created. Thanks!

One of the Asian experts may drop a comment on this thread, I think it would be helpful if you were to post more photos, including of the base.

Thanks! I agree that would be extremely helpful. I only have one photo at this time. The item is at another location. Maybe someone might recognize the general style from the picture.

It looks Japanese to my eye and looks like a very large piece of Satsuma.

Thank you! I agree based on looking up Satsuma. Does it look like Meiji period? Thanks !

Is the story on your Urn a "war at sea" scenario? I agree with Zowie but still love the intricacy and awesomeness (?) of the Urn. :)

Thanks everyone! Another family member has this so I forget what is on the other side. I know it has many warriors. I will have to take some better pictures when I can see it again.

Kyoto Satsuma 1875-1900 time frame Meiji. Nice large one would be a lot taller 6 ft range I think. Looks like the top was busted off at some point in its life shape isn't right should have a neck that goes up then flares out.
