This is a camel hump steamer trunk
Made of wood and metal,the leather handles are still in tact
The middle front lock is missing both side locks are missing pieces
I have had the trunk for 3 years and do eventually plan to try and have it restored
I get the same expression as your frog when I come across a nice trunk... my precious...
ps. It is not a steamer trunk just fyi.... the steamers where half sized trunks...
Would you happen to know what type of trunk then?
I believe the correct term would be a dome top trunk -- a the term "camel back" came in to play much later on and that these were originally listed in catalogues as dome top trunks. Yours has really nice high quality cast iron slat clamps at the corners -- nice addition.
