This item was left to us in an estate in Northern California in 1965. I have searched on line and can't find anything like it. The base has a small drain hole in it and a printed number in blue 6212. There are no oriental characters on the base. The lid can be removed and the inside is sealed so it can hold liquid. It appears that the item was poured with the indented scene, and then later the tree and leaves were applied to the outside. I am not even sure what to call it. When I searched I called it an Asian style carved ceramic spice jar. I also searched under blanc de chine. No luck. Does anyone recognize this?
