    11.5" x .75" x 6.25" Patent Model Parallel Tilting Gate.

    Patented January 26, 1869, patent # 86,184, by George Smith. of Providence, Rhode Island. Balanced to tilt vertically with little effort. Swings horizontally.

    Had previously mis-identified this gate. Found this patent information February 9, 2014. Had been looking for the correct patent for over 2 years. Found that reversing the search criteria brought up a number of patents I had not seen before.

    Honorable Mention at the 2016 State Fair of Texas Creative Arts Department, Hobby Collections Division. Category: Antiques.
