Not a lot to go on, I know. This one was found by my aunt-in-law's friend in his mother's box of sewing stuff. From what I gather, his mother sewed from the 30s to 70s (or so) but this item could be from her own mother's collection. Or it could be something else altogether that got dumped in her sewing box. Anyway, I was asked to identify it as I sew and I'm stumped!
The item is brass (?), about 4" long. And ... that's about all we know about it! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Looks like a small mallet that would hang in a bell, and strike against the inside wall to make the sound.
