Approximately four years ago, I came upon a large area carpet measuring about 17 x 14 feet.
I believe it to be Caucasian because of it's distinctive designs and colors, weaving patterns and especially the (Ghiordes or Turkish) knots.
The rug have the distinctive features, severely geometric designs based on floral motifs.
The colors are blue, red, yellow, ivory, orange, marve and green upon a olive background.
It is very unusual in that the entire carpet consist's of what appears to be a Herati Border.
The rug is based on a band of continuous rosettes and palmettes, linked by floral motifs.
It is elaborately floral and or geometrically severe.
As it is known, carpets and rugs are very difficult to date and or catagorize; I am not certain as to the above information.
