Original Antique Photograph Early Black Athlete Photograph??

I'm posting this old original Photograph of What I Believe is an Early American Sports black athlete. The gentlemen in the car driving looks familiar but I can't place the name. Maybe he was a Boxer or maybe an Early Actor. I'm trying to figure it out it looks as though he is posing for the photo with a group of guys eager to be in the photo. Does anyone recognize him or maybe I'm just losing it.
