Very Heavy, made of wood. Works perfect and keeps good time.
This was my wife's Grandfathers. If he was still alive he would be 105. He got this from his mother. I'm curious at how old and who made it. Have not looked inside the back of the clock. no markings on the outside of the clock. It measures 15" wide 9" deep and about 10" high.

Any idea as to who made it and how old it might be?

It's an Ansonia Mantel Clock. Since it is so heavy, I'm guessing it is either enameled iron or perhaps marble...probably iron. I'll look to see if I can find the model as time permits. Thanks for sharing your family heirloom with us.

According to a bit of research it is from 1904 and made of cast iron. Great clock and family heirloom.

Fortapache is spot on. You have what Ansonia called their "Boston Extra" model from circa 1904. The "Boston" model had a flat top. Do an internet search on the name and you'll find many other examples. If that solves your mystery, please indicate 'Mystery Solved' in your listing. If you have other questions, please ask away.
