    I just inherited this trunk from the parents. My mother got this at an auction about 40 years ago. I've always loved it. I think it's a seaman trunk ... wondering if anyone has any ideas. I think the brass plate would help identify, but I haven't been able to find anything. It 4ft long, by 2ft wide, by 2-1/2 ft. tall.

      Looks to be a chest which is not meant for travel. A trunk would have stronger and larger handles and the edges would be reinforced. This chest would be used for storage in a home.

      Much too big for a seaman's chest but beautiful. The metal work has a western Middle East touch to me.
