Wooden Indian Bed Slats? Weaving tools?

These are about 16 ½" long and the opening is 8" and about 1 ¾" wide. I have no idea what they are or what they are for. They look old and they look like they are from India. I got them with the red rag/ribbon tied around them. Anybody know? They are pretty much the same, with the 8" opening in the middle.

The best I came up with is either bed posts with holes for slats or some kind of looming or weaving instrument (you can tell I don't know anything about weaving). Thanks for info if you have it.
