A cross formed from a sword and fleur de lis would lead me to think it's based on medieval French Crusades, or some Knights Templar sort of thing. Someone here may know more about it, that's just my guess.

Interesting ring. I did an image search but didn't find any rings like this one.
What about taking it to a jeweler?
