We believe this Karpark Clockwork Coin Operated Parking Meter could possible be a demonstration model and have paperwork to prove its acceptance by Harrow Borough Council in London England.
This machine is in mint condition both inside and out and comes with all keys to open all parts. The clockwork mechanism is in excellent working order, we even found an old shilling and x2 old 5 pence pieces inside.
The patent no for this machine is 864501 and the model number inside is 5502 KP.
Any help on identifying and valuation would be most appreciated.

Sorry, but no valuations offered here as there are no registered appraisers. I think your chances of finding out if this parking meter is a demo are quite small, as the company is no longer in existence and I doubt very much if anyone here would know about your parking meter. You would have to independently research the patent no./model number. There are no other meters like yours listed on CW. The ones which are listed here as Unsolved Mysteries remain unsolved.

Hi Sarah, this meter is from England and I might have some information about it (clockwork used also in the US, but in different housings, etc...). To find out if that kind of information (got some pics as well) is usefull for you, please drop me a line: Go-Jens@web.de
