My Geisha wall hanging

This reminds me of spending time with my grandparents when I was young. It always caught my attention hanging in their house. I still admire this picture today . I have no idea how old it is. Im also unsure what it has been painted onto.The back seems fibrous like felt and the face is smooth. I was wondering if its authentic japanese art or just a print that would of been mass produced. Any additional information would be much appreciated
