Can anyone tell me the age, who manufactured, and pattern of this butter dish? 6 1/4 inch square - square knob on cover - etched flowers? Thanks.

very difficult to make out detail with that background; please try reposting with a neutral medium dark solid background. it appears to be a honey dish and may be the 'Athens' pattern c1888 maker unknown.

I took different photos. Hope this helps.

that's a little better. the ID is as posted previously; a collector's AKA is Flower and Quill

Is this item worth keeping, selling, or making a bird feeder out of it?

CW isn't a place for assessing values; we're here to share our collections and help with IDs. I collect EAPG cake stand. so not familiar with collectability of honey dishes, but would think this to be a desirable piece. Definitely not for a bird feeder.
