    I think the handkerchief drawers were an add on. The base of this dresser throws me off. It seems like it could fit as an empire but the feet remind me of the 1920s.

      It is 2nd Empire, about 1870-80 likely but of course could be up to 1900 without seeing it. Nice piece, too bad about the green paint. Also the feet are big but hard to tell again without seeing it. This is american empire piece, not french empire. Those top small drawers were more popular around the 1930's. They should have had the same handles also. I would think the whole top has been added on as the mirror frame is more a 1930's frame and probably came with the small drawers.
