Does anyone know what this is? Found it in a drawer and no one seems to know what it's for. It's about 5 inches long and when you squeeze the handles together the blade goes through the slot.

This gadget is a mystery no longer. I search the internet and had suggestions from friends and eventually found a "Foley Cookie Dropper". The user squeezes the tongs, scoops up the correct amount of cookie dough and allows the tongs to release and drop the dough onto the cookie sheet. After I found the first one, I even found an ad for the item showing it new attached by a clear covering to a card. My guess is that it was an item from the 1950s or 1960s. I am happy to share my investigation with you
