      I not sure but should be something that goes on top of the helmet but not sure. Does it have any maker marks. (Most likely a reproduction look into good of shape) would have to take to someone that knows Japanese Armor. You can google Samurai armor and find a diagram showing all the parts that would be with it if Complete.
