Unusual rocking chairs

I bought these chairs at the local auction my husband, and I go to here in Fredericksburg Va. for $20 each. I find them to be quite unusual especially the carvings on the arms. They look like dragons to me?? I have found similar chairs on line, but none with this kind of carving.
They are very sturdy, and I think the upholstery may be original. It is a yuck green as you an see by the pictures.
I'd love to find out how old they might be, manufacturer, really any information would be great. I'd love to know their worth, but regardless I think I practically stole them at $ each. ;)
