I need some help identifying this ceramic or earthenware jug from Japan. It is about 12 inches tall including the handles and about 10 inches wide in the middle. It is brown ribbed and glazed with blue drip. The handles are twisted and the spout is wide with three openings on the inside. It originally came with a twisted grape vine carry handle that fell apart and I took it off. I never knew it had us an actual working spouts until today, so I got curious and started looking.

As I said, it was made in Japan but I am seeing similar objects from France and the Ukraine, for example.

It could also be that this is a newer reproduction of an old type jug.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jackie
