Found in an old cabin

This is. Cast iron with a small d'or that slides open. It is about9 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. The metal rod goes through the middle with a short pointed end and a wooden handle on the long end. It does not rotate on the rod. Makes me think of a warmer of some sort. Any ideas.
