Vintage Shaving Stick Travel Canister

I know very little about this item, but it appears to be an antique travel shaving soap/stick canister. The bottom reads, "JARCC DIST. CORP. NY. U.S.A." An internet search found no results with this name.

UPDATE: May read "JARCO" which appears to have been a company selling back in the early 1950's. Can anyone confirm?
