Massive Pewter Stein with Panels Depicting Saints

We bought a group of Pewter Steins recently at an auction. This very large and fabulous 2 Liter stein has a number of panels depicting different saints, and a lid with a fancy finial. The bottom of the stein is stamped:

Zinn Tin Pewter Etain
97% Sn

So a couple of things here - I have found precious little on the Etain manufacturer of this item - also, I've not seen any other Pewter stein with 97% tin - usually 95% max. I am having a hard time dating this as well.

If someone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated!
