    I bought this about 30 years ago the sales person said it
    was a button cover ... its around an inch and a quarter
    long... I'm not sure of the material. It is hollow so
    It could almost act as a thimble or extremely small figure
    puppet ... some of the decorations on the front move

      I believe it's from the Kam-Sui (Dong) people of southern China. A hat ornament.
