my unusual lava ashtray

In Pottery > Show & Tell and Tobacciana > Ashtrays > Show & Tell.
Katsuripottery's items9 of 9mystery object6 inch shallow bowl, looks very old, no identification marks. Can anyone help with origin/ID

    This 20cm diameter 8cm deep Lava ashtray has no makers name probably because the base is black and white Rough Lava and was unable to be marked. I bought it from an op/shop about 20 years ago. I have a lot of unusual pieces including West German Lava/pottery and the reason I buy these things is they just "catch my eye" as that something special.
