I was told these were purchased in Santa Fe under the impression that they were Native American. Any information is welcome!

Where something was purchased may have nothing to do with where it was made. Santa Fe is a world center of crafts, and its International Folk Art Museum has the largest collection of international folk art in the world. It's safe to say that items from everywhere in the world can be found in the many shops and galleries in Santa Fe.
Your baskets are from Pakistan. They are not Native American. They are made from palm fiber, but often copy designs from Native American baskets. They come into the U.S. with paper tags indicating their origin, but those are often removed. These "Southwest style" baskets are sold on line, and all over the Southwest.
It is a federal offense to sell them as "Native American" or "Indian," so many shops and trading posts just take off the tags and put the baskets out for sale, hoping buyers will assume they are buying an Indian basket.
