I have a beautiful lamp needing restoration, I got this lamp from a friend, it was wired to a glass shade that belonged to an oil lamp rather than the lamp shown. I unscrewed the light bulb portion and a decorative plate hiding any wires. Under the plate the metal read “CORNELL M.” And some unreadable numbers. Does anyone have any info on these lamps? I can’t find anything myself, and I would LOVE a possible date. Thanks!

I don't know about the date but what I do know is that's how my lamps look forever more if I decide to fix them! One of the things I just should never try to accomplish. End of the line for them. ????

Cord and socket look to be from around 1960. Usually the socket is left and only the cord is replaced in older rewiring, so I don't think it was ever rewired. As such, the lamp likely dates to around 1960.
