I have 4 steins that are very simular in size & decor. My husband was stationed in Germany in 1963 that's were he purchased them. I have been trying to get more information also but nothing yet.

It looks like your stein was made during The “Golden Age” which lasted up until the start of World War I. I can tell because it's noted "Germany" and not "Western Germany". WWI began a period of economic dislocation of the two from which the German beer stein industry has never fully recovered.

The mark looks like a back-to-back "E" over an "H" which is the mark of Eckhardt and Engler of Höhr (Höhr-Grenhausen since 1936), Germany. Its value is no more than $25 at most. Visit http://www.steincollectors.org to learn more about antique German beer steins.
