Dresser with candle holder shelves and locking drawers

This was my grandmas dresser. I am having trouble trying to identify the time period it was made. The only marking I found was the VIII on the back at the top. The drawers are dove-tailed and there are flat-head screws and square nuts/bolts used. The two lower drawers have brass locking devices on them. I would like to find some history on it and who made it. Any help is appreciated. Not looking to sell. Thanks in advance!
