I Found this nice redware vase in Maine and was wondering if someone could tell me if it is American or Mexican and is it an antique or a studio art project? Both sides have different decoration and as you can see on the bottom, there is a number, not sure what that represents. I did a rubbing with pencil and it appears to be 1796, because the second number has a line through the center.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
