Found this metal box, not sure if silver. Lined with wood . Box has an inscription on it. Anyone know any thing about it? What does the symbol stand for?

I think the Alpacka refers to Alpaca silver.
"Alpaca silver is a combination of metals formed to create a faux silver metal. This metal is also known as German silver or nickel silver and is made up of nickel, copper, tin and zinc. "
      Clearly a German made box.
