Came across this unusual pitcher at a recent charity sale - initially I thought it was pottery but upon closer inspection I concluded it is glass, with a matt finish? Can't say I've ever seen anything like it? As is shown in the photos it is matt black grouond with rich blue interior and abstract, muli-colored decoration. I was unable to find any sort of marking. It measures about 9.5" tall. Welcome views. thanks

Thanks to some collectors on a glass forum this item has been identified as from Azerbaijan. Google "Azerbaijan glass" and think all will agree. Only remaining mystery - I have yet to see an example in black? but I'll keep looking. thanks to all.

      finders9, Beautiful.

Until your post, I had no idea that Azerbaijani glass was a thing.

They even had a big convention in 2016:

I didn't find another black glass pitcher like yours, but I think I found a vase that could be a cousin:

“Excellent condition with no cracks chips or repairs. Beautiful flat black with red white and blue patches and cased over blue. Made by the Russian Azerbaijan with label on base. Vintage.”

      A beautiful double handle vase
      Made by Russian Azerbaijan
Color flat black cased over blue
Pattern red, white and blue patches
Rough pontil with label on base
      Measures 8"T x 4.25"L x 2.5"W X 2" opening

Actually, the shape of your pitcher was reminiscent to me of this Georg Jensen piece:
