The mirror has been pass down and the story is our great grandfather had a sawmill very early 1900's in Kissimmee,Florida. He craved this to give to her as a anniversary gift. One said it was the great, great grandfather in Seymour Indiana.
I am not sure about the story or if bought and travel with family from Ohio to Indiana and then to Fla. It has a usual backing and not sure of the wood or if the mirror is mercury.

Looks like Walnut wood . Very nice ! Victorian period perhaps . Another will be along to help date it better :-)

Thank you for your comment. I thought it was Walnut but wish I knew the real story. I really think it was purchase for her and not made. I have seen some similar to it.
