My boyfriend is a tractor operator and dug this up at a job he was on at the Ontario airport in CA. Buried with this was some soda bottles from the 1920s and some apothecary bottles from the late 1800s. I have tried but can't find anything anything close to it.

What's it made of? Pottery Metal or Glass, and what is the size of it?

I think it's ceramic not porous and it is 4 inches . Thanks for your help
It looks like the spout of a tea pot.
Yep Watchsearcher, I think you're right! I didn't see the chipped off edge on the outside of the strainer end of the Spout! Great job! :^)

From making ceramic items years ago, I can tell you a bit about how the spout could have snapped off so cleanly:
When the tea pot was made, the spout, handle and body were make separately, then joined together by moistening the clay, scoring the 2surfaces to be joined, adding a little slip as glue, and sticking spout and handle in place. Then the “glued -together” tea pot would be fired in a kiln.
Next step was to apply any decorations and the glaze and fire it in a kiln again.
The spout and handle would always be subject to being snapped off since they were “added on”.
Someone may have lifted the teapot by the spout when it was full of water and broken the spout off. Or maybe the maker didn’t do a good enough job afixing the spout in the first place and that made it prone to coming off.
It's funny but this would be a good thing for Kovels' to put in there "What Is This" post, from their News Letter! :^D
