Model 27 made in 1906. Nice cabinet. Mystery solved?

      fortapache, };-)

      Hlnat, Cool.

fortapache is quite correct; that serial number (H371971) was one of 60,000 allotted April 24, 1906, and your machine is a model 27.

Your cabinet looks like a model # 3, and your decal set is known as "Sphinx", or "Memphis."

Unlike fortapache, I didn't know the model of your machine off of the top of my head; I found it out by looking up the serial number of your Singer at International Sewing Machine Collectors' Society (ISMACS) website, and then building on that information, I was able to find out about the cabinet and decal set. You might want to check out ISMACS, as it's quite a trove of information:

As to value, that is not something done here at Collectors Weekly Show & Tell. You can have it appraised (for a fee) at another company under the Barnebys corporate umbrella:

Alternately, now that you know a bit more about your machine, you can look for similar ones at eBay, etc. to get a feel for value.
