Appears to be a sake set. A set in Japan has five cups.

Agree, Japanese sake set. Number of cups in a sake set can vary. Usually, there are two or four cups in a sake set. Cups are called choko or o-choko. The flask is called a tokkuri. Five cups are more common in tea sets than in sake sets, though most tea sets are also two or four cups. I have a couple of tea sets and a sake set with two flasks that came with five cups, though. You have a nice sake set. Can't decipher the mark..
